Stephanie K LantzStephanie K. Lantz, a native English speaker, was born and raised in Clarinda, Iowa. She showed a penchant for learning Spanish from a young age. After studying elementary education at Northwestern College, she accepted a teaching job in Quetzaltenano, Guatemala. Because she lived with a host family, Stephanie was immersed in the Spanish language. However, her day job was teaching first graders in English. Stephanie discovered that her deepest desire was to teach in Spanish. During the 10 months she taught in Guatemala, God equipped her with the skills necessary for teaching kindergarten in Spanish at Pella Christian Grade School. Her parents and sisters were thrilled to have her back in Iowa because they no longer needed to buy plane tickets to visit her. Stephanie lives in Pella with her cat, Cadbury.
