Born into a legendary Yiddish theater family and a founding member of the Group Theater, Adler was the only major American acting teacher to study with Konstantin Sanislavski. Adler's work earned her a reputation as one of the most dynamic and disciplined actresses of her time, as well as a leading teacher and theorist.
