Sophia SolimanHi there! I'm Sophia, an illustrator, photographer and college lecturer with roots in Portugal and Egypt, now based in the bustling city of Cairo. My work is all about capturing the depth of human emotions and finding ways to express them visually. Itry to include that in my art as well as my lectures of Portuguese in Ain Shams University. One thing that really drives my art is a belief in the power of vulnerability. I think there's something special about embracing our feelings, and I try to bring that into everything I create. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to publish books in Egypt, the UK, the US, and the Netherlands, which has been an incredible journey. With a mix of cultural influences and a focus on emotional connection, I aim to create artwork that not only looks good but also resonates on a deeper level with children, my students and, hopefully, you.
