Sonya BallantyneSonya Ballantyne is a Cree filmmaker, writer, and public speaker originally from Misipawistik Cree Nation in Manitoba. Her first film Crash Site has played in festivals internationally and she has spoken at such events as TedXWinnipeg, We Day Manitob, and San Diego Comic Con. As a young girl, she did not see media that included girls that looked like her and it inspired her to get into a creative field.
