Sonnee D WeednDr. Sonnee Weedn is a clinical and forensic psychologist with offices in Novato and Newport Beach, CA. She is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and an APA certified specialist in the treatment of alcoholism and other chemical dependencies. She is crtified to practice EMDR and Emotional Transformation Therapy, and began her practice in 1980 when Viet Nam veterans were beginning to manifest symptoms of trauma and substance abuse. It is with them that she learned to treat the dual diagnosis of PTSD and chemical dependency. She has performed evaluations through the Veteran's Administration for veterans seeking disability evaluations for mental health issues. Dr. Weedn has been in private practice for almost 40 years, treating individuals, couples, and families, as well as maintaining three long-term therapy groups, and coaching executives and athletes. In October 2015 and 2016, she was an invited speaker for His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama's Mind, Body, Life Conference (Men-Tsee Khang) in Dharmsala, India. She consults to various treatment organizations in the area of continuing education for mental health professionals, and program development and implementation. Yvonne Cagle, M.D., invited Dr. Weedn to be a founding member and chairman of the DSR-30 (Deep Space Research - 2030) Consortium, writing behavioral health protocols maintenance and monitoring of behavioral health for the astronauts going to Mars in the future.
