He works as a psychotherapist, bereavment counselor, and spiritual director, affiliatedwith Mt. Airy Counseling Center in Philadelphia, and is adjunct assistant professor in the Jewish Studies Program at Temple University. For the past two decades, Dr. Raphael has worked as adeath awareness educator, teaching and leading workshops on death and the afterlife in Judaism.
