Shiv SharmaShiv Sharma was born in Simla, India, and had his early education in New Delhi and Bombay where his father was a film writer and director. After taking his Master's degree in philosophy from Punjab University he briefly worked as a journalist in Bomby. In 1964 he came to Britain and joined the Western Mail in Cardiff as a sub-editor and was there for three years. From there he moved to Manchester and for the next 20 years was on the staff of The Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, The Guardian and the Daily Mirror. In London he was the editor of Indiamail, a weekly for the Indian community in Britain, for three years. He had a short stint of work in the Middle East and his last job was as a sports columnist on the Guardian Weekly. Shiv Sharma is now a full-time writer and lives in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
