Shirley TuckerShirley Tucker was born in Quebec City and grew up in a small seaside town in Newfoundland, where she learned that family and friends are our most sacred and supportive relationships, and that nature is one of our most precious possessions. Her caree as a nurse gave her the opportunity to travel and to experience the wonders of nature: the Serengeti, Nepal, the world's oceans, and the ultimate beauty of India. Shirley is a current member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Canada and has completed a writing for children course with the Institute of Children's Literature West Redding, Connecticut.
