Sheridan R BarringerSheridan R. Barringer retired from NASA where he worked as a mechanical engineer and project manager at Langley ResearchCenter for 37 years. He graduated from Virginia Tech in mechanical engineering in 1965. He is the author of Fighting for General Le: General Rufus Barringer and The North Carolina Cavalry Brigade about his ancestor for which he won the Douglas Southall Freeman Best Southern History Book Award and the North Carolina Society of Historians History Book Award in 2016. He is also the author of Custer's Gray Rival about the life of Confederate Major General Thomas L. Rosser. He continues work on other cavalry figures from the Army of Northern Virginia.
