A 20th-century historian, Stevens specializes in the era of George C. Marshall nd the early years of the U.S. Women's Army Corps. She edited volume 9 of Proceedings of the Rockbridge Historical Society. Alice Trump Williams taught mathematics at Lexington High School, Southern Seminary Junior College, and James Madison University before serving as a research fellow at University College, Oxford.
