Sharath ChandranMr. Sharath Chandran is an Advocate practicing primarily at the Madras High Court. He graduated in Economics from the Madras Christian College with a distinction bagging the Arjun Gnanavolivu scholarship. He went on to pursue his L.L.B from the ILS Lw College, Pune, where he stood first in the L.L.B examinations (Final Year) bagging two gold medals and several subject prizes. He was also awarded the best outgoing student of the College in the same year. While completing his law degree he had a stint as a research intern to the Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India at the Supreme Court. He then went on to read for the B.C.L from the University of Oxford where he obtained a distinction and was awarded the Corpus Christi Book Prize. He has co-authored chapters in the book titled “Basic Structure Constitutionalism - Revisiting Kesavananda Bharati” (Eastern Book Company) (2011) with Dr. Sanjay Jain and Dr. Sathya Narayan of the ILS Law College. He is a regular contributor to the Madras Law Journal (Civil and Criminal) and the Kerala Law Journal. His areas of expertise include commercial law, arbitration, constitutional and administrative law, civil and criminal procedure.
