Shannon Owor TitoShannon Owor Tito, EdD, received his doctorate from Simon Fraser University in 2013. He has been a British Columbian publicschool educator for more than twenty-seven years. Much of his work has been with Surrey School District. Dr. Tito's other skill include conducting peace educational research and curriculum development in Uganda and working for two years as a Faculty Associate at Simon Fraser University Faculty of Education's Professional Programs (PDP). He was appointed for six years as a Social Justice Facilitator with the British Columbia Teachers' Federation (BCTF). He is the developer/lead author of the Ugandan school-based Peace Education Programs Peace Education Teachers' and Learners' Guides published by the Ugandan Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) in 2007. Dr. Tito is also the founder of the Canadian registered not-for-profit charity Charles Owor Foundation (www.charlesowor.com) that has supported educational and poverty relief projects in northern Uganda since 2001. He is a current board member of New Hope, a not-for-profit refugee housing society based in Surrey, British Columbia. In 2017, Dr. Tito co-published an article in the February issue, no. 54, of Forced Migration Review: Oxford Department of International Development, Centre for Refugee Studies at The University of Oxford. He was appointed in 2019 for two years as a peer reviewer for International Journal of Elementary Education. In his spare time, Dr. Tito enjoys and engages in the arts and nature.
