Shalieka Tiffia BurrisShalieka T. Burris is an academic writing lecturer in the College of General Studies and Behavioural Sciences at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC). She has been facilitating academic writing courses in higher education institutions fr almost a decade. She has taught courses in academic writing and linguistics and has served as course leader for the academic writing courses at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean. Shalieka has earned her teaching diploma from the Shortwood Teachers' College in Kingston, Jamaica. She has also earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in linguistics at the University of the West Indies, Mona, in Jamaica. Shalieka currently reads for her doctoral degree in Leadership and Organizational Intelligence at the Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. Her research interests include adult teaching and learning, emotional intelligence, team effectiveness, followership, leadership, academic literacy, online teaching and learning, and applied linguistics.
