Shabbir CheemaG. SHABBIR CHEEMA is Principal Technical Advisor, Urban Management and Human Settlements, United Nations Development Progamme, New York. He received his Ph.D. in 1973 from the University of Hawaii. Before joining UNDP in 1989, he was a member of the enior staff of the United Nations Centre for Regional Development, Nagoya, Japan. Dr. Cheema has taught at Government College, Pakistan, University of Science, Malaysia, and the University of Hawaii.
