Sergio SaponaraSergio Saponara got the M.Sc. cum laude, and Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pisa. He is IEEE Senior Member and IEEE Distinguished Lecturer. In 2002, he was with IMEC, Leuven (B), as Marie Curie Research Fellow. He is Full Profssor at University of Pisa in the field of electronic integrated circuits and systems, including wireless systems. He is also a Professor at the Italian Naval Academy. He co-authored about 300 scientific publications in peer reviewed international journals and conferences, 17 patents, a book on radar design. He is also a research associate of CNIT and INFN and is an associate editor of IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine, IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, SpringerNature Journal of Real-time Image Processing, Electronics Letters, MDPI Designs, and guest editor of the SpringerNature Journal on Embedded Systems and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics. He has been involved in the organization committee of about 130 conferences of IEEE and SPIE. He has been guest editor of several special issues, and invited/plenary speaker in several conferences, of IEEE, SPIE, Elsevier. He also got several best paper/presentation awards. He is the responsible of the summer school "Enabling technologies of IoT" and of the CrossLab "Industrial IoT" both at the University of Pisa. In 2014, he co-founded IngeniArs srl, a start-up company where he is Chief Technical Officer. He has been responsible for Pisa University or IngeniArs of several research projects funded under EU or ESA programs. He has been consultant for the R&D centers of industries such as STMicroelectronics, Renesas, AMS ag, Ericsson, SelexGalileo, Magna Closures, Rico, Flyby, PPC.
