Experience working with adults with mental illness and in child welfare and completing three noves have helped me hone my writing skills.Two songs that influenced my writing of this book are Led Zeppelin's Achille's Last Stand and George Harrison's My Sweet Lord. Achilles Last Stand is one of my favorite songs.The song, to me, is about humanity's quest to know and death freeing one's soul from the constraints of earth. Upon death, there is no need for mythology, such as the myth of Achilles, to make sense of our experience, as with death comes enlightenment and, finally, the knowledge of what awaits us.
