Saumendra SarangiSaumendra Sarangi received his M.Tech degree in power control and drives from NIT Rourkela, India in 2009, and completed his Ph.D. in power system protection at the Indian Institute Technology, Kharagpur, India. He worked as an assistant professor inthe Department of Electrical Engineering at NIT Uttarakhand in 2019. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering MNNIT, Allahabad. His thesis was selected for the POSOCO power system award in the year 2017. His research interests include wide area monitoring of power systems using phasor measurement units, adaptive relaying using synchrophasor data, design of protection scheme for micro grid with penetration of renewables, condition assessment of electrical equipment, and reducing the losses of the system using Smart Grid Technology. He has over 30 publications in international and national journals and conferences. He was selected twice for the mentoring teachers' scheme by INAE Fellow. He has conducted and contributed to several national and international workshops as committee member of several conferences.
