Satya Shila SinghDr. Satya Shila Singh (Ph.D.) is serving as a professor in the Department of Botany, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. She is actively engaged in UG and PG teaching and possesses 11 and 26 years of teaching and research experiences, respectiely. Her area of expertise mainly includes the isolation and characterization of different diazotrophic cyanobacterial strains from various unexplored regions of Chhattisgarh, by using polyphasic approach. Dr. Singh has also studied the responses of diazotrophic cyanobacterial strains to toxic pollutants like heavy metals, pesticide and surfactants. At present, her research are focused on the study of thermophilic cyanobacterial diversity from Indian hot springs and understanding their metabolic behavior, bioremediation prospects, ability to synthesize industrially and pharmaceutically valuable compounds.
