Sarah ShaughnessyI have been creating stories since childhood, not always written down, but always with pleasure. I had a short story published in 1999 and from 2001 to 2009 regularly had poems and articles published in relation to spirituality. I have written more sort stories recently and continue to write poems as well as working on children's stories. The outline of Portrait of a Princess was conceived some twenty years ago but since retirement I have more time to write and the story has developed. I am a nature-lover and keen gardener, working voluntarily in a garden for the Kent Wildlife Trust and these influences are reflected in my writing. Following an animated discussion with an Irish friend, I have decided to use the pen name Sarah Shaughnessy for literary publications.
