After going to Guildford Art School in the late 60's to study photography she became a freelance photographer in London for seven years. She had two sons, and in 1983 she decided to emigrate to Australia where she helped her brother in his business making unusual pottery. Eventually she started making her own sculptures and held sculpture classes in her home which she had built out of mud bricks. In 1999 intense grief pushed her off her perch of comfort into an unexpected journey of self-reflection, and discovery.
