Ryan FlavelleRYAN FLAVELLE joined the Canadian Forces reserves as a signaller in 2001, and in 2007 he volunteered to go to Afghanistan. On returning, he took on graduate studies at the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies at the University of Calgary. His reearch into battle exhaustion during the Second World War took first prize in the Journal of Military and Strategic Studies Awards for Excellence. Flavelle lives in Calgary with his family.
