Ruthnie SemelfortRuthnie is from the town of St. Louis du Nord, Haiti. At nine, she came to the United States to live with her father in New Jersey, who had left Haiti almost a decade earlier. After some time had passed, she moved to Florida and received her businessdegree from American Intercontinental University. One day she got a call from a former mentor asking her to be part of a series of initiatives to help those in underserved communities. She jumped at the opportunity, which put her on the path as an Early Childhood Educator. A decision that has changed her life. She has taught in Head Start and other Early Childhood Programs for over 15 years in Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Ruthnie currently lives in Florida with her children and extended family.
