Ruth E WangerinRuth Wangerin, PhD, MPH, is an anthropologist and retired public health educator. Besides previous public health work related to tuberculosis and smoking, her research and writing has been on religious movements, chemical warfare, labor, and agroecolgy. The Children of God: A Make-Believe Revolution? told the story of youth looking for purpose and a new way of life. Recent articles include The academic caste system and The adjunct professor as chimera. Although her favorite bumper sticker reads, I'd rather be gardening, Dr. Wangerin finds meaning in teaching anthropology and getting to know today's youth.
