Ron TeichrebAs a young adult, I started taking an interest in finding out where I came from. I would ask my parents, aunts and uncles about what it was like in the "Old Country." It seemed like everyone I knew was from another place and had come to Canada to stat a new life. I searched for any clues from any source, stories about the "Old Country," why they came here and what it was like to be pioneers or direct descendants of pioneers. I had notes, anecdotes, and verbal history in various forms. For several years I started thinking of putting all this information into a first-person book/story form. After my retirement from the Civil Service and my children now in careers of their own, I finally had the time to start the process and to write my first book.
