Roger P RichieRoger was born in 1948 and raised in south St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up in a modest home in a working class neighborhood. His parents were hardworking plain folks who were active in the Methodist Church. His father was a letter carrier and his moter was a homemaker. They each had a strong work ethic which was solidly instilled in his upbringing. Roger attended local St. Louis public elementary schools and was graduated from Cleveland High School in 1966. While attending Southeast Missouri State University (1966-1969), he took a vocational test which guided him to a career in mortuary science. He was graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science, Chicago, IL, in 1970. After completing the license-required internship at a funeral home in Kansas City, MO, he was licensed as a Missouri funeral director and embalmer in 1971. This began a funeral service career in the St. Louis area that included employment at Kriegshauser Mortuaries (1971-1981), Professional Mortuary Services Embalming and Crematory Inc. (founder/president, 1982-1993), Irwin Chapel (1993) and John L. Ziegenhein & Sons (1994-2019). At John L. Ziegenhein & Sons, he eventually became owner/president in 2006 and then sold the funeral home business in 2019. At that time, age 71, he stepped into retirement and now works part-time. After being fired and unemployed in 1981, Roger began to wonder why some people succeed and other people don't. Thus began a life-long interest in self-help, self-improvement, self-actualization and helping others do the same. He learned that attitude is everything, I become what I think about and that our thoughts actually create our life. The years 1981-2019 included a roller coaster path of troubles and joys. This included two divorces, raising three beautiful daughters and finally meeting the love of his life, Linda. Roger wanted answers to simple questions about life, human relations, luck, security, getting ahead, finding peace, happiness and success. It was during these years that he began collecting and compiling statements that are now published in LOOK For GOOD, Secrets of Happiness and Success. Read More Read Less
