Robert SchaferRobert Schafer has a BS in physics from Union College, an MS in physics from Yale University, a JD from Harvard Law School, and a PhD in urban planning (with a concentration in economics) from Harvard University. He was an associate professor of cityand regional planning at Harvard University. He was one of the founders of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review in 1966 and served as its editor in chief in 1967-68. He practiced law for more than thirty years. He is the author of Inequality: Piketty's Capital in a Nutshell and The Suburbanization of Multifamily Housing; coauthor of an early quantitative analysis of racial and gender discrimination in mortgage lending, Discrimination in Mortgage Lending; and coauthor of Housing America's Elderly.
