Pinger is Professor Emeritusin the Department of Physiology and Health Science at Ball State University, and Director Emeritus of the Department's Public Health Entomology Laboratory. He earned his MS and PhD from Iowa State University and ompleted postdoctoral training in medical entomology at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. He has taught at the Federal University of Amazonas, Manaus, Brazil and Yeungnam University, Daegu, Republic of Korea. He is co-author of two textbooks: Drugs: Issues for Today (3rd ed., McGraw-Hill) and Introduction to Community and Public Health (8th ed., Jones & Bartlett Learning), and more than 25 peer reviewed, scientific research articles.
