Robert PenfieldRobert Penfield is a Simsbury, CT native. He has a passion for writing about his hometown, wanting to document his wonderful memories and experiences as a kid and of his life growing up there before he forgets them. Rob is a graduate of Northampton Cmmercial College and American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. He is a decorated and twice-wounded Vietnam vet who served with the 9th Infantry Division. Rob was Sports Editor for the Farmington Valley Herald while also covering national events such as the World Series, Super Bowl, NCAA tournaments and The Olympics for numerous publications. He ran his own international management consulting business for over 30 years developing business training programs for companies worldwide. He played baseball at every level beginning with neighborhood sandlot games, to military and semi-pro teams in Oklahoma. Rob and his wife Bonnie live a comfortable retired lifestyle in Phoenix, MD with their cats and rebuilt Model A Fords which they drive throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states.
