Robert LagammaRobert LaGamma, a seasoned diplomat, served the US Foreign Service for over thirty-five, primarily in Africa and Italy. His career culminated as the USIA Director for African Affairs during Mandela's presidency. He was recognized with the Edward R. Mrrow Award for Public Diplomacy. Post-retirement, LaGamma led democracy promotion campaigns for the Council for the Community of Democracies. He also spearheaded missions for the National Democratic Institute and the Carter Center.
