Robert H McNamaraDr. Robert McNamara is currently the Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate College at The Citadel. He is also the Director of the 2 + 2 program in Criminal Justice and a Professor of Political Science and Criminal Justice. He also serves as the xecutive Director of The Case Hartmann Foundation, a non-profit organization that attempts to provide assistance and recognition to social workers, police officers, military personnel, and families in need.
Dr. McNamara is a former faculty member and Director of the Center for Social Research at Furman University. He is the author of a variety of books on topics such as juvenile delinquency, crime, multiculturalism in the criminal justice system, social problems, homelessness, interracial couples, prostitution, policing, foster care, urban sociology and social gerontology. Dr. McNamara has also served as a Senior Research Fellow for the National Strategy Information Center, the Policy Lab, the Police Executive Research Forum, in Washington, D.C. and the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, in Baltimore, MD. He also served as a consultant for the Executive Office of Weed and Seed in Washington, DC and has published numerous articles on a variety of topics and has been a consultant for state, federal and private agencies on topics such as AIDS, drug abuse, urban redevelopment, homelessness, policing, and gangs, and health care. He also worked with the Regional Community Policing Institute at Eastern Kentucky University to study school safety in eight high schools across the state. He also worked with the Mexican government and the National Strategy Information Center to develop an anti-corruption curriculum in their public schools.
