Richard W CovingtonRichard Covington, a life-long resident of the Northern Neck, resides in Northumberland County. As a member of the Northumberland County Historical Society, he has contributed numerous articles concerning various subjects to its annual publication, te Bulletin of the Northumberland County Historical Society. Richard's interests lie in the family histories of the Northern Neck and historical events of the area. In 2017 Richard was presented the Jefferson Davis Historical Gold Medal for a series of articles he wrote about the Civil War era in Northumberland County. During his retirement, he is devoting time to new research and writing. Richard is currently drafting a book about the Civil War era in the Northern Neck that he plans to publish soon.
