Richard Peter OliverRichard Oliver is a John Curtin Distinguished Professor of Agriculture and Chief Scientist at the Centre for Crop Disease Management at Curtin University, Australia. Amongst other honors, Dr Oliver is an Honorary Fellow of the National Institute of Aricultural Botany (NIAB) and Honorary Professor at Exeter and Nottingham Universities. He is also a past President of the British Society for Plant Pathology. Recently, Curtin and the GRDC have established a bilateral research program called the Centre for Crop Disease Management. This is a 5-year program initially with total funding of $96m. Dr Oliver is the Centre Chief Scientist, reporting to the Board with a brief to oversee the science/research programs and projects, develop new research proposals, monitor research quality and to build and maintain international research linkages.
