Renice TownsendAbout the Author: Born in Australia, Renice arrived in British Columbia, Canada in the late sixties. She enjoyed the Canadian experience and became a Canadian citizen within the next few years. Renice updated her teaching credentials and eventually tught in the local school districts for approximately sixteen years. Renice had the privilege of teaching a wide range of subjects, grades, and ages. She eventually completed a Master's Degree in Education at the age of fifty-two. Renice had to retire prematurely from her profession as she has Parkinson Disease. However, she continues to lead an active and fulfilling life. One of her greatest joys is spending time with her grandchildren. Sharing ideas for stories became a rewarding and creative journey where inspiration is gained from the natural beauty of the environment. About the Illustrator: Louise was born in Toronto, Ontario. She presently lives in British Columbia in the West Kootenays. Louise moved west in 1990 after attaining a Master's Degree to minister in the United Church of Canada. Aside from ministry, she is a long-time musician, who has played the piano in many locations. Louise became interested in art about ten years ago while living and working in Langley, British Columbia. Louise attended the Fraser River Art School and soon realized that she enjoyed creating art that involved people and told stories. When Renice asked Louise if she would like to illustrate the stories she had written with her grandchildren, Louise responded with an immediate Yes. Louise has learned a lot about the art of illustration through this rewarding experience. Louise continues to enjoy the process of helping create the stories using her illustrations.
