Renee Lovekids

Renee LovekidsRenee Lovekids is an Elementary school teacher. She has the privilege of teaching in one of the most diverse areas in New York. She had several comical events that have occurred in her classroom over the years and has begun to transform these experieces into stories. Homework Rules! was her mantra as any of her former students can attest to in her previous book: Why My Teacher Cried Today. She believes it's imperative to invest in children by celebrating all cultures, dispensing regular doses of praise, purchasing gifts and rewards for hard work, and academic success. The author believes these actions promote the idea that her class is a family and supported. This investment also aides in the development of student's confidence and competence as well. Their self-worth is valued furthermore, which encourages children to work diligently and experience more success! But then the unthinkable happened! COVID-19 appeared on the world stage. This was a very frightening and frustrating time for her as it was for teachers, children and parents throughout the United States and the world. During the pandemic she learned much about herself and her resilience. She found remote learning most challenging; however she was able to stretch her skill sets in technology, such as Google Classroom and creating videos for her class. Through long nights and tears she overcame obstacles just as teachers around the world endured to educate students to the best of their abilities. Read More Read Less
