Reid VanderburghReid received his BA in Psychology from Portland State University in 1998, and his MA in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy Uni-versity's Graduate School for Holistic Studies in 2001. During his career as a therapist, he worked with over 450 eople asking the question, "How do I want to live my life?" in the context of gender identity. Reid lives in Milwaukie, Oregon with his wife and two cats. He sings bari-tone in the Portland Gay Men's Chorus, and holds the distinction of being the only person to have sung in every adult GALA chorus that has existed in the Portland area. In 2016, he was chosen as a recipient of a GALA Choruses Legacy Award for Distinguished Service. Reid also sits on the board of the Portland PFLAG chapter. Reid is the author of two peer-reviewed journal articles: "Appropriate Therapeutic Care for Families with Pre-Pubescent Transgender/Gender-Dissonant Children," Child and Adolescent Social Work Journal, (2009) and "The Story of Mary, Diana and Daniel," International Journal of Childbirth Education (2012). He is the author of the book Journeys of Transformation: Stories from Across the Acronym, now in its second edition.
