Regina DuboseRegina DuBose was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1957. She was educated in the Detroit Public School system and was raised in a loving family with her parents and four brothers.Ever since her first lemonade stand as a kid, Regina DuBose was drawn to enrepreneurship. However, it was her first job as a clerk-typist in Detroit working for a reputable accounting firm, Thompson and Edwards CPAs, which opened the door for Regina to receive true mentorship from a successful entrepreneur. That experience increased Regina's financial IQ, and taught her some basics about interacting with clients, money management, and tax law, that she has continued to incorporate throughout her life and career. As the youngest employee at the firm and the only African-American, she was already a trailblazer and has made creating opportunities for others a major part of her life's mission and work.Regina received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and a Master of Arts degree in Guidance and Counseling from Wayne State University, with continued graduate studies at Rutgers University. For thirteen years, she practiced as a counselor in the field of educational psychology, until turning her sights back to her first love and pursuing her dream of being a business owner. In 1984, she began small as a vendor at concerts, and local festivals and events, selling novelty items and inflatable toys. By 1986, she'd saved enough to open The Alexis Company. Through trial and error, Regina quickly adapted in the business world, expanded her product line over time to include party supplies, balloons, and party décor, along with gift items, and finally what became her signature product, silk-screened tee shirts. For thirty-five years, The Alexis Company has thrived as a community staple serving major churches, schools, and community organizations, as well as, high-profile clientele including former-Mayor Dennis Archer, Fifth-Third Bank, and Senator Hansen Clark. She is a member of the Advertising Specialty Institute, the Detroit Metropolitan Visitors & Convention Bureau, and Motor City Freedom Riders. An avid community activist and person of faith, Regina volunteers regularly and serves as a member of the Mid-west Civic Council of Block Clubs, and the New Members Teacher at Partakers Church Baptist. She shares her life with her daughter, Dr. Sequina DuBose who is a classical musician, opera singer, and college professor. Regina loves to travel, cook, sing, and play board games to relax. With Perpetuating Wealth, Regina aspires to continue in the footsteps of her first financial mentors and encourage others to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. Read More Read Less
