Rana RyanRana Ryan was born in Brooklyn, New York; she was raised in Queens, New York where she studied Psychology and earned her Bachelor's degree. Right out of college Rana Ryan worked with children and families who suffered profoundly from addiction, abuse abandonment and imprisonment. This is where she witnessed how the crack error destroyed families, financially, emotionally and spiritually. Rana Ryan then went back to school earning her first master's degree, Masters in Public Administration. From there she managed foster care and preventive programs seeing how families with addiction were treated and how they became addicted to drugs. Here, Rana Ryan witnessed the ramifications of drug use in families, children separated from their families, parents imprisoned and abuse on the rise. Rana Ryan decided again to go back to school to earn yet another degree, a Master in Business Administration, where she learned how to manage and operate her own business affording her the opportunity to consult for many of the top family agencies in New York City. This opportunity afforded Rana Ryan a chance to train social workers on how to work with families who have been broken due to long term drug use. After much request from her past and current clients, Rana Ryan went back to earn her third and last degree, Master in Social Work leading her to take the state board exam allowing her to practice as a licensed therapist. This is where Rana Ryan best work was achieved, working with families and children who suffered because of addiction. Addiction Aunt Jacky was born out of all the work Rana Ryan had the opportunity to do with the families she served. Addiction Aunt Jacky is an urban novel that focuses on the powerful introduction to drug use in America from the beginning. Rana Ryan wanted to capture the behaviors, the shame, the cycle and the obstacles that come with addiction; Rana Ryan exposed in this book how addiction can be good and bad, depending on your drug of choice. Addiction Aunt Jacky powerfully address what a child goes through once exposed to drug use without limitations.
