Prabir Kumar DasDr. Prabir Kumar Das, the author of PAANI KA RANG is a medical doctor by profession and acquired his MBBS and MD degree from Government Medical College, Nagpur (Nagpur University). He also attained four more post-graduate qualifications in Tuberculoss and Chest Diseases, Philosophy, Public Administration and Population Studies. Dr. Das started his service career in the Public Heath Department of Government of Maharashtra and served for about 32 years. He is the former Deputy Director of Health Services, Nagpur and immediate past National President of Indian Public Health Association (2016 - 2018). He has many awards and fellowships in his credit like World Health Organization Fellowship, Fellowship of Indian Public Health Association, Moulana Azad Fellowship, Best Citizen of India Award, Young Scientist Award, Vidarbha Bhushan Award, Sight Savers Award and many others. Writing remains his passion from the very childhood. He started writing in Bengali, mainly poems and short stories, during his school days. So far he penned three anthologies of Hindi Poems (Patthar Devata Nahin Hota, Patzar Ke Baad and Pagdandi), Potegaon Se Pattaya Tak (about his journey), Padvi Parichay (classification of more than 7000 Marathi surnames) in addition to many literary as well as health related articles in English, Hindi, Bengali and Marathi. Dr. Prabir Kumar Das is presently associated with Lata Medical Research Foundation, Nagpur and engaged in the field of maternal and newborn health research.
