Phyllis PittmanPHYLLIS PITTMAN, a grandmother of ten and a former horse breeder, uses her insight into horses and children - and their age-old mutual attraction - to craft stories that speak to kids and are fun to write and to read. A resident of Fairhope, Ala, Pitman is a former journalist, feature writer, travel writer, and humor columnist. The Hattiesburg, Miss. native has written for the Hattiesburg American, the Jackson, Miss. Clarion Ledger, the on-line magazine Iconoculture, and other publications. A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, she has taught newswriting, editing, and layout and design at USM and William Carey University in Hattiesburg. In addition to Pony Tales: Night Mischief, Pittman has short stories in a collection called Fairhope Anthology: Second in a Series.
