Phillip ConnorsPhilip Connors was born in Iowa and grew up on a farm in southwest Minnesota. After graduating from the University of Montana, he worked for several years at the Wall Street Journal, mostly as an editor on the Leisure & Arts page. In 202 he left the paper for a seasonal job with the United States Forest Service in New Mexico. His first book, Fire Season: Field Notes From a Wilderness Lookout, was named the best nature book of the year by Amazon and won a National Outdoor Book Award, the Sigurd F.
