Matthews has been doing everything within his power to help other people see how much God loves them, how much trust, submission, and love they owe Him in return, and how muc happiness, blessedness, and satisfaction such a mutual relationship with the Lover of our souls actually brings. He has been involved in ministry, churchplanting, counseling, and songwriting for almost 50 years throughout California. He and his wife had five boys and two girls, all of whom have been involved with gospel work.
