Peter YarrellPeter Yarrell is the founder of the 'Tour of New Zealand', a biennial cycling tour that over the years has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for New Zealand charities such as St John, Unicorn Foundation, the Heart Foundation and Tearfund. An avd sportsman, he also founded the AMP City of Christchurch Multi Sport race, and more recently, the Lochmara Lodge Half Marathon in the Marlborough Sounds. Peter's love of organising adventure sport races stemmed from his own experience as a top competitor. In 2017 he was awarded the Queen's Service Medal for his services to sport in New Zealand.Peter and his wife Jilly have devoted their lives to helping people and promoting causes that benefit the community. Following a year at Capernwray Bible College, the couple created an 'open home' called 'Koinonia', a place of hospitality and support that ministered to hundreds of people over the years. IN more recent years they have established Tussock Heights, a retreat venue with views to the majestic Coronet Peak.Peter's faith and relationship with God (who he describes as his 'Coach') has shaped Peter's life in profound ways.
