Penelope VaughanPenelope Vaughan studied singing with the late Ilona Colini, international examiner, soprano and vocal coach. Their lessons lasted for up to three hours and Ilona was delighted to have such a dedicated and talented student to work with.They became clse friends, and when Penelope started to make a name for herself in the opera world, whether it was on a radio show, or singing on television, Ilona was always the first person to call and congratulate her.Penelope recorded three CD's in aid of the Cynthia Spencer Hospice of which Earl Spencer (Princess Diana's brother) is the Patron. She then became the Tree of love Soprano and sang at the annual memorial services for seven years which raised funds for the hospice. She also recorded with the late Mike Skeet (sound engineer) a wonderfully gifted English eccentric, and also sang soprano as part of The opera duo for a short time.She also has her own busy teaching practise. Penelope hosted several charity concerts giving her students a public platform to showcase their talents whilst raising much needed funds for the hospice.These days Penelope continues to teach privately at her home in Northamptonshire. She also writes music and books.She is a keen squash player and enjoys long walks in the countryside. She loves all animals, particularly wildlife which she likes to photograph and also creates short videos which have proved very popular on various nature lovers sites.She would dearly love to open an animal sanctuary in the near future.
