Peggy Ann BarnettI grew up in 1950's Queens, NY., ducking for cover under my desk to avoid the atomic bomb. In the 1960's, while getting a BFA as a photographer, I got married to Ron, a young long-haired hippie who loved art, music, and traveling to medieval castles s much as I did. I was a photographer in my own studio for over fifty years. We traveled to the Pacific Northwest in 2006 where I became a poet and published my first book: On Your Left! which was inspired by nearly getting hit by a biker on a hiking trail. After visiting southern France I began Bitter Fruit. Writing it took four years and a trip to the North Pole.
