Paul Van BurenPaul van Buren (1924-1998) earned a BA from Harvard College, and STB from the Episcopal Theological school, and a D. Theol. From the University of Basel, Switzerland, where he studied under Professor Karl Barth. He taught for 22 years at Temple Univesity and was director of the Center of Ethics and Religious Pluralism at the Shalom Institute in Jerusalem.Dr. van Buren was the author of numerous articles and books including The Secular Meaning of the Gospel (1963), The Edges of Languages (1972), Discerning the Way (1980), and Christ in Context: A Christology for the Jewish-Christian reality (1988).
