Paul Henry BrownIn 1942 Paul Brown was born in Arizona on a Navaho Indian reservation where his father worked as a doctor before moving to the Belgian Congo. Most of his early memories are filled with his experiences in Africa, at home in Zandeland, and at Rethy Acaemy, the boarding school he attended through 10th grade.Living among the needy Zande people his father, Paul Hart, an unpaid skilled surgeon, set up a one-doctor hospital. Though they offered healing, his parents had a far greater message sharing the good news of John 3:16 with patients before and during surgery. His mom, Raunie, was a nurse who worked with her husband and trained national nurses for their general practice. After graduation from Wheaton College, Paul returned to Africa to become the Headmaster of Gatumaiyu High School in Kenya. Two years later he came back to the States to marry his fiancée, Ellen Bearce and in 1968 the couple went to Rethy Academy to begin their years of service in the Democratic Republic of Congo. For over 30 years Pa and Ma Brown, as they are still affectionately known, taught, loved, and guided children in the very same boarding school where these stories took place.Paul and Ellen now live on a small farm in Central New York where Grandpa tries farming. They serve in the local church and are seeking to use the gifts and heritage God has given them to show God's love to those He has prepared. Read More Read Less
