Patrice MaduraPatrice Madura Ward-Steinman is professor of music education at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, Bloomington. A specialist in choral music education, vocal jazz, and vocal music research, she is a former professor and music educationdepartment chair at the University of Southern California, and a former faculty member and conductor of choral ensembles at the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne. She also has taught choral and general music for grades K-12 and has performed extensively as a pianist. Professor Madura is the author of four other books: Becoming a Choral Music Teacher (Routledge, 2009), Music Education in Your Hands (With Michael L. Mark, Routledge, 2009), Images of America: Madura's Danceland (Arcadia, 2010) and Getting Started With Vocal Improvisation (MENC, 1999).
