Paola GagliardoPaola's passion is to ignite the spark of curiosity in students through inquiry, language, and culture. Born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, Paola graduated in 2000 with a B.S. in Chemical and Industrial Engineering and a Minor in Psychology from Univesidad San Francisco de Quito. After moving to the US, she started to see the needs of passionate educators in her native language. In 2004, Paola co-founded The Language Academy, one of the few immersion schools in the Vancouver area. Later, she started teaching Spanish as a Second Language in various Catholic and private schools before joining the International School of Portland. During these past eleven years, she has been "experiencing inquiry" first-hand thanks to Kimberly's book. Paola completed her Masters in Neuropsychology and Education in 2020, and in 2022, translated Kimberly's book into Spanish with the purpose of giving Spanish speaking teachers an easy-to-read manual and the practical tools to bring inquiry into their classrooms.
