Pamela Kay Wegeng

Pamela Kay WegengAt an early age, I knew that I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. Teaching was filled with many memories and experiences. I loved to read chapter books with my class. We performed plays, wrote our own scripts, and held dinner theaters. Probaby the most exciting project I started was to have students write and illustrate their own books―from the beginning to the end. When I retired from teaching full time the question was, "What do I do now?" My husband said, "You have your students write a book, why don't you write stories?" Hmm. . .a lightbulb moment! I guess I was so busy having my students write stories that I had not even considered writing myself! That's where I began a new chapter in my life. My files were filled with ideas from teaching, from memories with our children and grandchildren, from events in my own life, and from our travels. I've always told children to take each opportunity; for they never know if that opportunity will come along again. That's exactly what I did! I live in south-central Kansas with my husband Mike. We have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren who also live in Wichita. Throughout the years we have collected many treasures and memorable times. Family memories are different for everyone. It may be a favorite recipe, baking holiday cookies with those you love, taking a family trip, those family get togethers, or that special item passed on to you from a family member. As you read my story, I hope that you will reminence about your special memories and keepsakes! Read More Read Less
