Nym Cooke
Nym Cooke began studying shape-note music over forty years ago as an undergraduate at Harvard, and is now a leading scholar of early American sacred music. His publications include an edition of the complete music of Timothy Swan for the naional series Music of the United States of America, a chapter on sacred music to 1800 in the Cambridge History of American Music, and two volumes of carols and part-songs, Awake to Joy!. An accomplished choral conductor and arranger of music, he has taught at the College of the Holy Cross, Brandeis University, and Eagle Hill School in Hardwick, Massachusetts.
